  1. Kerning Amount Box  
  2.     Kern(ing) is the amount of space between characters on a line of 
  3.  text. The kerning amount box allows you to change the of selected text. 
  4.  It includes a text box and a set of arrows to the right of the text box 
  5.  that allows you to increase or decrease the kerning of the selected text. 
  6.  Each click on the left arrow decreases the kerning by 1pixel ( appr. 
  7.  1/72 of an inch). Each click on the right arrow increases the kerning 
  8.  by the same value. Alternatively, you may enter the value for the 
  9.  kerning amount directly into the text box and enter return or tab.
